Assignments

Setting work for a class, collecting submissions online, and grading with feedback.

In short. A teacher sets an assignment for a subject and section, students submit online from their portal, and the teacher grades it with feedback. Parents can see what has been set for their child.

Setting an assignment

Teachers create assignments from Assignments on their portal; administrators can see all of them under Assignments › Assignments. An assignment belongs to a subject and a section, and carries a due date.

A teacher can only set work for the sections assigned to them through Subject Assignments.

How students submit

Students see the work under Assignments on their own portal, with its due date, and submit through the same screen. Everything stays inside Academiq, so there is no email thread to lose.

Grading and feedback

Submissions arrive under Assignments › Submissions for administrators, and under the assignment itself for the teacher who set it. The teacher records a grade and written feedback, which the student then sees against their submission.

Teachers grade their own work only. A teacher cannot open or grade submissions for an assignment set by a different teacher, even within the same class.

What parents see

Parents see their own children's assignments under Assignments, including what has been set and what has been graded. They cannot submit on a child's behalf.

Plan availability

Assignments are part of the Assignment Management feature and appear only on plans that include it. See Your subscription.
